Symmetry
Humans are drawn to symmetry. The basic shape of Helius has two forms, a left and a right hand node. These pairs make for intuitive exploration of symmetrical shapes that are pleasing to the eye, the mind, and the hands. All shapes can have a mirrored pair with enough pieces.

Stackability
The shapes and structures lend themselves to so many stackable variations. You can experiment with patterns of colors, shapes, striping, etc. The power of stacking is unlocked when additional sets are added. (The stack shown requires 3 sets of 12).

Unique Structures
The "Stable Configurations" are formed when the flat ends of long chains reconnect in a seamless fashion. These loops can be chaotic and mercurial, or ordered and highly patterned. The real puzzle is learning the patterns and creating novel shapes.
